This Privacy Policy explains how the GlowWords mobile application (“GlowWords”, “we”, “our”, “us”) processes information when you read, translate or subscribe inside the app.
1. Who we are
GlowWords is developed and operated by an independent developer based in Armenia. Privacy contact: artaxata.dev@gmail.com.
2. Scope
GlowWords lets you read EPUB books (including public‑domain titles), highlight vocabulary, run translations, train with flashcards, access AI explanations, watch rewarded ads, and purchase GlowWords Plus subscriptions. We do not require user accounts and we do not run our own cloud database.
3. Data we process
- On-device learning data. Reading progress, highlights, flashcards, learned words, local EPUBs and preferences stay on your device unless you delete the app or its data.
- Translation requests. Text you choose to translate (word/sentence plus source and target languages) is sent to third-party translation providers solely to produce the requested result.
- Monetization and subscription data. To run paywalls and entitlements we create an anonymous random user ID (UUID) that is stored on your device and shared with Superwall as well as Apple App Store / Google Play Billing. We receive the product ID, country/price tier, trial information, subscription status, paywall impressions, and rewarded-ad completions so we can unlock limits and comply with store rules. We never receive your full payment details.
- Ads, analytics and diagnostics. When banners or rewarded ads load, Google AdMob and its measurement partners collect device and usage information to deliver, cap, and measure ads (subject to consent in the EEA/UK). We also use Google Firebase services (Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config) to understand app usage (for example, screens opened and paywall interactions), troubleshoot crashes, and roll out or tune features and limits. This may include app instance identifiers, device/OS information, event timestamps, and crash reports. We do not use this to build profiles outside the scope of operating and improving the app.
- Support communications. Emails you send to us are processed to provide assistance and kept only as long as needed to resolve the request.
We do not sell personal data, nor do we combine it with third-party datasets to build user profiles outside the scope above.

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
- Performance of contract / legitimate interests – deliver reading, translation, flashcard, TTS, AI, subscription, and import-limit features.
- Consent – personalized advertising and analytics cookies where required. Without consent we request non-personalized ads.
- Legal obligations – honoring receipts, tax/audit requests, fraud prevention, and responding to regulators.
6. Ads, subscriptions, and your choices
- You can disable personalized ads via the consent dialog (EEA/UK) or your device ad preferences. Pro subscribers automatically see no in-app ads.
- Use the App Store / Google Play subscription settings to cancel auto-renew or manage free trials at any time.
- Rewarded ads are optional; if you choose to watch one, AdMob will process the playback event to grant the reward.
7. Children’s privacy
GlowWords is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). If you believe a child provided us information, contact artaxata.dev@gmail.com so we can delete it.
8. International transfers
Third-party providers may process data worldwide (for example the EU, UK, and US). Where required, they rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK IDTA, or comparable safeguards.
9. Retention
- We do not run our own database; data remains on your device unless you delete it.
- Subscription and receipt metadata is retained as long as needed to honor purchases and resolve chargebacks.
- Third-party providers apply their own retention schedules; please review their notices.
10. Your rights
Where applicable (EEA/UK and similar jurisdictions) you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. Contact us at artaxata.dev@gmail.com. You can also log a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
11. Security
We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. However, no mobile app or transmission is completely secure.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest revision. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app or release notes when possible.
